With everything new and exciting and weird going on in 2025, it is worth the time and energy to learn about growing and using food in a way that is delicious, abundant and free of supply chains and such. I have put my 20+ years of training, experience, experiment and disastrous result (mostly great ones, but we don’t learn from those) into a book that I am really proud of and hope you will enjoy.
I wrote this book for myself. It started off as various bits of info, charts and graphics I made for my seedling csa. I wanted a way to provide them with all the info they needed for their seedlings in simple to understand and follow terms. For the first two years, I printed up all of the information at home, cut and bound everything, had wall charts and reference cards… to say I overdid it is to know how I enjoyed it!
There a million Garden Guides or References available, many written by possible AI lately; from just lines on a page with a picture of a carrot to full blown encyclopedias. Plus, most information is readily accessible online. But that might just be part of the problem, there is SO MUCH information, but sources are sketchy, and most of the difficulty of gardening is organization. Where do you start? What do you start? When? How? What is arugula?!
Farmer Kiki’s MicroFarm Experiment is intended as a friend in the garden: a yearly planner, tracker and reference all in one little package. 200 pages of everything I could think of, everything I do and lots of encouragement.

WHEN to start which seeds is fundamental.
These are the charts I put together for the book, but reformatted to fit on printer paper, as both PDFs and an editable version to customize your crops. I want these to be as functional as possible, so if you have any requests or suggestions, please contact me.
Alphabetical includes all crops with guidelings for how many to grow, space required, and when to Star, Plant and Harvest in alphabetical order. Helpful to decide what you want to grow.
The Chronological chart goes by month with suggested crops for each month. Helpful to track monthly starts and successive planting. This chart, along with the CALENDAR below can be edited to fit your plans, plants and everything, or just print it out or save on your phone for quick reference anytime.
A monthly calendar with easy reference and reminders for the best days to do all your garden magic. Suggested days to start seeds indoors, sow seeds outside, repot seedlings, and plant them outdoors. Regular reminders for maintenance and even the best times to harvest for the happiest fruits and veggies.
I’ve highlighted good working days and marked the best days with a little purple flower.
